Our new beginning...

I am relieved and excited :)

So today, my parents and SammoBammo's parents met. We had the inaugural family meeting and it was pretty interesting. There were many many different topics of conversation. Of course the most important one, was about the marriage and the wedding. SB and I have already decided at the very beginning that we were gonna allow our parents (on both ends) to worry about the receptions and the cultural and traditional rituals. We will definitely come along for the ride, but today gave us a very clear picture of what our wedding will be like, which really excites me! :D

We have a long time of planning and moving forward but the most important thing on our minds are managing our ever expanding family, and since that's done, I am incredibly happy and excited.

This is a relatively short post because I need to go to bed now to get up for Bootcamp tomorrow!

Goodnight world! :D

Love,
DancerGal Sheryl!

Change in Life (Lives)...

For those of you who have yet to receive the news, I am now officially engaged :)

SammoBammo got down on one knee and proposed. Obviously I said yes, hence the sentence above. On 30th January when it first happened, I was in a state of shock and awe. To be honest, that feeling of shock still has yet to disappear. However, due to the nature of our relationship, we had to come down from cloud nine pretty quickly as we had to tackle some big personal issues.

We knew that upon the announcement, there were gonna be a bunch of people who were not gonna be happy for us. Not that it's a wrong thing, because they have a right to be unhappy with the decision that the both of us made. That being said, in this new phase of my life, I ask myself, do I really need these negative people in my life? The answer: OF COURSE NOT!

On the other hand, I am eternally grateful for those who are incredibly happy for me. We've been swarmed by congratulatory messages and those mean so much more to me. I have a great team behind me, helping to plan the wedding as well as give us advice on what to/not to do. That we really appreciate. We are honestly taking our time to plan, so PLEASE don't ask when is the big day, because both of us won't be able to answer you as we are not sure ourselves. Let me get to the real reason why I decided to blog about this...

Reality is beginning to sink in. That means, I am starting to accept the fact that I am getting married and is getting a new family. Emotions are enjoying this roller coaster ride. I would really APPRECIATE it if people (other than family and really close friends and people who I choose!) to not ask me questions about religion and culture. The relationship between SammoBammo and I have been going on for 4.5 years. This was the first thing we talked about, have been talking about throughout the relationship, and of course, now. I know those who care for me have opinions of your own, but I would really appreciate it if you gave me constructive advice now, rather than questioning my decision.

This emotional roller coaster is not exactly a bad thing. I know how some people say that I should just be happy and all, but I do believe that downs come along for a reason. It teaches me how to handle crap and friendships and relationships. I know who I want with me along with the ride. And for that, I will be keeping tabs on my planning with a wedding blog. I have yet to come up with it, but when I do, you will know. :) To those of you who really care and mean it, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. That's all I can say.

Thank you.

Stay happy and active!

Future Mrs. DancerGal :)

2015 - 21 days gone.

So there goes one of my resolutions! HAHAHA! I was supposed to blog more. I seriously could not find the time to seriously sit down and blog. I know they don't have to be long, etc. but I still had no time. Life has been one whirlwind after another.

It's been 21 days since the new year, and here's what's been happening.

I finally went back to Bootcamp. Got myself signed up in the 3-month program. One of my resolutions this year is to be fit and strong once again. Weight loss isn't the biggest deal because I already am seeing a decrease in my size, but I would like to be that girl that can run marathons, do continuous classes, and be fitter in general. Many people have questioned the choice of going back to Bootcamp (including my mom!) but trust me. I know what I'm doing. I'm going into my 3rd week now, and it's been nothing less than amazing. That feeling of coming out of the field stronger after every session, priceless. :)

Took part in my first CSR campaign under Yellowshorts, hosted by No.11 Espressolabs, called "Flood Gone, School Onz". We had a donation/packing drive to prepare care packs for school-going students who were/are affected by the floods in the East Coast of Malaysia. It was extremely exhausting, but the positive energy and flow of inspiration was just amazing. I completed the last day of the drive feeling motivated and inspired to make a difference, even in the smallest way I possibly can. :)

I turned 29 in the quietest, most mature way possible. I cancelled class ("mature") to have dinner with my mom, sister and closest friends. We talked a lot over cake and teh tarik. Mom got to know my close friend (Sherena) a bit better and I was glad to finally introduce her to my family. SammoBammo was there as well. It was nice, simple and quiet. The best way to celebrate my birthday :)

The next day, I also celebrated my birthday with Dennis, Kellen, Kerry-Ann, Jeremy, Lyn Sheng and Chrisy, who are my theatre class friends. We had a screening party of our showcase to review our "acting" skills. It was great having that company around and simply being in the company of people who love me. As narcissistic as that sounds, I was proven right when they bought me a simple dinner, a lovely yummy cake, and the best present one could give me; their friendship. Everyone gave me presents at the end of the night and each one of them had been well thought out. Lyn Sheng got me a concealer palette I've been eyeing for ages, Chrisy got me the cutest pink and purple travel body care set, Kerry-Ann got me a keychain with my name and a star on it (because of my character in the showcase!) and Jeremy made me a hand-made card that was so incredibly beautiful, I couldn't stop looking at it. Even until today, reading the messages that each and everyone of them wrote makes me a little bit teary. You guys really made my birthday such a beautiful and amazing one and I can't thank all of you enough. Lots of love to all of you!

Work has been taking up some time. It may not look that way, but preparing the behind-the-scenes work for a new business is incredibly taxing. It makes me pretty exhausted but the idea of a new business, one that I am starting, is priceless. It makes me feel inspired, motivated, and everything else in between.

2015 promises to be a year of change for me, personally and I've already gone through some "changes" and it's barely been a month into the year. And for that, I promise myself that 2015 will be nothing less than amazing. For me, at least.

Stay inspired.

Celebratory lunch at Genji, PJ Hilton!

Sometime in November, I sat for my ISTD Intermediate Tap Examinations. I thought that I didn't do very well, but the results came out and I got a DISTINCTION! I was so incredibly happy that when I first found out, I was like screaming at the top of my voice. Naturally, I told a few people and one of those was SammoBammo. He was proud of me and took me out for a nice celebratory lunch! That lunch was at Genji, a Japanese restaurant in PJ Hilton.

Before anyone even starts to complain, there is something that I need to note. SammoBammo has the Hilton card which allows you to get a 50% discount when you bring a 2nd person. Most hotels have the same reward system thingy, so please go find out about those. Regardless, it was a treat from SammoBammo to me for doing well in my exams so I was grateful for that! Plus, the food was good! :)

The food was really delicious and I really enjoyed myself. Thank you for the lovely lunch, SammoBammo :)

Love always,
DancerGal Sheryl.

Two Zero One Five

It's only been two days into the new year. It's been relatively exciting, but I've experienced so many emotions over the past two days. I've been hurt, I've been called names, I've been missing people, I've cried tears over things that some people won't. That said, I've also ate a lot, slept in, been happy and relaxed. There are always two-sides to a coin.

New year. Same old me. But a lot of things are gonna change.

I'm going to work on becoming a fitter person (and hopefully, lose some weight in the process?) by going back to Bootcamp. I'm really looking forward to that because I really have always wanted to go back, but never really committed myself to it. Now I have the time and I'm just so excited to go back! :D

I'm working on a start-up company which I'm really hoping will work out soon :) I can't really disclose much about it, but I can tell you that it's not easy, but it will be so rewarding when it all comes to fruition. :D

I mentioned on 31st December that I really wasn't keen on celebrating New Year's because honestly, I wasn't too happy in 2014. But as I was typing that post, I also reflected on a LOT of things which I got out. My biggest concern is (selfishly) for myself, but it also really made me concerned about humanity.

I realized that throughout 2014, many things happened across the world (it could be things that had NOTHING to do with Malaysia) that made me cry. Humanity is a basic human feeling. Throughout 2014, I was proven that there are people whose humanity is almost zero. They have absolutely no feelings for mankind whatsoever. This goes for those who are sexist, racist, ice-hearted, and even the religiously extremists. On the flip side, I've also learned throughout 2014, that there are those who constantly revive my faith in humanity and that just makes me beam from ear-to-ear. :)

Two zero one five is not going to be an easy year, but it will be a great one for me. How do I know that? Because I am the one that makes my year. No one else. :)

Live your own life. I will always love you all.

Love always,
DancerGal Sheryl.

In the middle of the night...

So this is another random blog post. I wouldn't call it random, cos it's not like I was eating my Maggi Mee at 12.30am and didn't think about blogging. But yeah. Random because I just wanted to have an outlet to vent/rant?

Okay, let me clarify something. I'm not gonna be like "advertising" stuff on my blog, so it's really just an outlet. I'm not out to get a gazillion followers. To me, writing is an outlet, and that's what this is. So what do I have on my mind at 12.30am? Well, my relationship.

I think when my boyfriend reads this, he's either gonna be happy or upset at me. But yeah.

My relationship (to me personally) is a pretty big deal, simply because I've been in the same relationship (and I'm not saying this in a bad way!) for the last four years plus. I've also read many Elite Daily (elitedaily.com) postings about relationships and while I agree to some of them, I also disagree with many.

Every relationship is different which is why I'm not out to write about what other couples should or shouldn't do. This is just a personal reflection of my own relationship. I won't deny that I have had many ups and downs throughout the relationship. More ups than downs (obviously!) and every down time makes me really appreciate the effort both of us have put into this.

Why am I reflecting on my relationship? Well, cos honestly, a friend's friend had a really bad breakup. I kid you not. Like a really bad breakup. The type where it was really hard to not take note of. So what about my relationship? I just wanted to look back on some of the amazing times we've had together. This includes the bad times. Weird? Quite. But the bad times reminds me of how much we have gotten through together. It's amazing because I have had some really bad times but he was always there for me. So yeah. It's a nice reflection in the middle of the night before I fall asleep. Something positive to end the night with. :)

So, goodnight!

December 8, 2014

This post isn't gonna be all love and sunshine. Look away if you had a good day!

So, today I had a really horrible day. I don't really think I could call it horrible, but more like incredibly unfortunate. I'm just having one of those days, where I ended it in tears and I'm like asking myself why in the world is this happening.

I'm not gonna be one of those people who are like "life is all amazing" and all that bullshit, cos I believe everyone has some form of sh*t in their lives, nor am I gonna be like "life isn't worth living" and all that melodrama nonsense, cos well, everyone has sh*t. I think today's keyword for me would be that. SH*T.

Why is my day like this? Well, I don't think you guys need to know. Then why am I typing this? Well, to me, this is an outlet. A venting point. You will know when I start vlogging. Why do I wanna ruin your good day with this horrible blogpost? Well, did you read the title? Don't read this if you had a good day today. Today is just one of those days where I really cannot even begin to accept any form of positivity. So yeah.

I'm just gonna end my suck-a$$ day by watching videos of my favorite YouTube stars doing funny things. It's not much, but it does make me laugh, so whatever. Don't worry. I'll go back to being all positive tomorrow. TOMORROW.

I love you all, I'm just having a really bad day and let's just end it there.

Goodnight!
